650 Khz 16/2/99 04h30 UTC WSM Nashville. Many ID's, timecheck for 10:30,
news and ads for 4X4 vehicles, briefly fair but faded away after about 5
minutes. (I caught it rather late, probably would have been audible for
10/15 minutes overall)

Rxer: Icom R-70 & Collins R-389/URR
Ant: Octal Loop

I have heard this stn before but lately there's not been much to shout about
so I was quite pleased to hear it.

This morning (19/2) a few USA stations were audible above 1500 Khz with fair
signals, as good a spell as any in the last few months. The interesting
thing was that the Solar Flux and A-index were very high at the time (168 &
63) with minor storm conditions. These figures were totally contrary to what
I would have expected - maybe the storm was causing the fairly good
Trans-Atlantic reception. Maybe a wiser soul (than me) can provide a few
theories?!
