******************************************** A special broadcast is scheduled to take place on 675 kHz on Wednesday May 12th 1999 between 2000 and 2400 hours UTC. The transmission will be carried from the new norwegian AM-site at Röst in Northern Norway, replacing the old transmitter on same frequency located in Bodö. If everything goes well, the transmitter will be put on air during daytime on May 12th. At this time Bodö will be shut down. Röst will carry the normal programme ("Europakanalen" in parallell to for instance 1314 kHz Kvitsöy) until 2000 UTC when a special prerecorded programme will be aired exclusively from Röst until midnight when "Europakanalen" will be switched back. The timeslot should give grey-zone propagation possibilities for northern Europe, so even if the dutch Radio Tien Gold transmits on the same frequency, some long distance DX could be possible. Remember also that this new site is far better than Bodö, regarding location. Röst is way out into the Atlantic Ocean, with lots of seawater all around, and a brand new transmitter. Up to date info will be available at http://www.dxlc.com/ in a few days time, reporting on the progress and possible late changes.
