TDP - NEWS
==========

TDP, the Worldwide Transmitter Organisation ( http://www.transmitter.org )
is the starting point for the shortwave broadcaster, present and future, and
for all other persons involved in shortwave radio broadcasting.

On our website, you will find out how to look for a transmitter, antenna or
tube amongst other valuable information related to shortwave broadcasting.

A brief description of the different sections explains why there are 9 good
reasons to bookmark TDP.

1) Shortwave Transmitter AIR-TIME
---------------------------------
24 international broadcasters have joined forces to provide the largest
source of air-time available on shortwave. Hiring air-time to broadcast a
programme on shortwave is simple thanks to this service at
http://www.air-time.org . All possible target areas or even worldwide
coverage is possible, whether you need only 1 hour per week on a short-term
contract or daily coverage on a long-term basis.

2) Shortwave Broadcast ANTENNAS
-------------------------------
This section not only contains links to the different manufacturers of
shortwave broadcast antennas, but has been expanded to a real antenna
selection guide. Several articles related to shortwave broadcast antennas
have been included (like "How to select an antenna") as well as
specification sheets of the most important antenna types used for shortwave
radio broadcasting like curtains, log periodics, broadband dipoles, etc.

3) Shortwave Transmitter COUNTRIES
----------------------------------
The country by country database of shortwave transmitters has become more
user-friendly by incorporating clickable maps for each continent of the
world and a pull-down menu of countries, so that you can select a country
with it's transmitter details in 2 easy ways.

4) DIGITAL Shortwave Radio
--------------------------
We are nearing the time that real digital shortwave radio will be
implemented. On air tests will take place in November 1999 and system
recognition by the ITU is expected in early 2000.

5) Shortwave Radio DX-CLUBS
---------------------------
More than 60 shortwave radio dx-clubs have a website on the internet. Be
sure to join one to get the latest information on the subject of your
interest.

6) Shortwave Radio DX-PROGRAMS
------------------------------
DX-programs are one of the programs most-listened to on shortwave. This new
section has a link to the majors shows, most of which can be listened to
through the internet as well.

7) Shortwave Radio STATIONS
---------------------------
Where else do you find links to the official websites of the Ghana
Broadcasting Corporation and Radiodiffusion Tªlªvision Marocaine? More than
260 websites of radio stations broadcasting on shortwave are listed in 5
categories: Governmental and Public, Religious, Commercial, Free and Pirate,
Clandestine and Opposition.

8) Radio Broadcast TRANSMITTERS
-------------------------------
Specification sheets of shortwave broadcast transmitters, new or old, and
now also links to manufacturers of AM, SW, FM and DAB radio transmitters
make this section your first step in your search for a radio broadcast
transmitter, new or used.

9) Shortwave Transmitter TUBES
------------------------------
Need a tube for your shortwave transmitter? Be sure to check out our
database of where to look for a tube, by manufacturer or by tube type.
