6005 kHz is heard almost every night here in the Pacific Northwest.  3970 is
of course USB only. 6005 is normal AM.
In my experiences, I have never seen NHK-Sapporo off frequency, but I guess
it could happen that it moves down to 6003.97.
I've not recently noted any stations on 6003.97 but I will have to check,
perhaps this weekend around 1400UTC. Looking at the loggings over the past 3
months I don't note any for 6005 in this timeslot (one that I frequently use
to check on Indian subcontinental stations).

ilg database shows 6005 active from 0400-1230 and 2000-0030. I usually check
it only when needing a parallel for the 90mb USB stations (frequently heard)
