Re: [HCDX]: Radio France International

Hi Richard-

I have been trying to QSL France-Inter on 162 khz LW since 1995! The only
reply I ever received was a form letter from TDF Montrouge that said RFI
does not broadcast on 162 khz from Allouis (which is true, RFI doesn't but
France-Inter does). I was also in contact with David Page in 1999 of the
English Service of RFI who told me that HE was told France-Inter doesn't
have any LW facilities in Allouis. Also that the LW broadcast I heard from
New York must be from an overseas French domestic department (state) in
Martinique, French Guiana, St. Pierre, etc.! He said France's broadcasting
organization is extremely large and one department doen't always know what
the other is doing.

Even a short-wave report to RFI in 1996 attached to the 162 khz LW report
did not yield a QSL from France-Inter OR RFI. I really don't have a clue as
to what is going on. David did tell me he gets over 2000 letters per month
and that anything that is not a simple request gets shoved aside (like my
written letter to him before I tried e-mail).

Good luck-

It's been a long time since I've seen a QSL from RFI mentioned anywhere,
does anyone know if they still reply?
I logged them last night relaying via Japan on 7140 at 1030 in French.
