Re: [HCDX]: Unid on 1390

It is amazing how different one's ear can hear...

>From the first wav -file (UID1.wav) I can very positively conclude that it
is WISA
Isabela. Since last autumn, the station is part of the 'Cadena Radio Puerto
Rico' -network and broadcasts it's programmes at nights. The chorus in the
background sings "Radio Puerto Rico - Todo Radio".
>From the announcements that I've heard this winter, I guess at least the
following stations (in addtion to WISA) are belonging to the Cadena Radio
Puerto Rico:
WTIL (Radio Util), WEKO (Radio Eco), WIAC San Juan, WPAB Ponce, and WALO
Humacao. All of them or some of them appear frequently in slogans.

On the other recording (UID2.wav) I hear 'Puerto Rico' mentioned twice so I
guess it must be WISA, too.

Dear friends

Thanks for the help as to what I heard on 1390 (cf below). Horacio from
Uruguay have been listening to my recording and says he can hear this: "Con
más potencia las 24 horas, estas son la 3-40, Radio Uni, Radio Eco... radio
deportiva".

Thanks a lot Horacio!!

This seem to indicate that it's not WISA? I KNOW that WISA is very common
on this frequency, but still I am not 100 convinced, so if someone else can
add something to the observations of Horacio I would welcome that.

Please listen to >www.wmr.dk/UID1.wav< and >www.wmr.dk/UID2.wav<

Thanks to the enclosed mail I have had access to your clips,
and having listened to them, I believe I can say that the
first clip contains a promo for three stations mentioned as
"Unidad 13-90", the last one being R Lumen 2000, which
is in Venezuela.

On the second clip there is probably a Puerto Rican. Incidentally,
R Util, in Mayagüez, is mentioned in there.
This clip features one of the typical traits of Puerto Rican
Spanish, where the r sound is being rendered as an l. Example at
the end, "Puelto Rico 24 horas".
