[HCDX] Space Weather Update 6/8/2000

Mike Bird has sent the following update to his Space Weather Report on Media
Network:

Space Weather Update 6/8/2000

During Saturday 5 August the geomagnetic field became slightly more
disturbed than was originally forecast.
The magnetic field was subjected to a weak shock after which a period of
unsettled to minor storm thresholds ensured.
Mid latitudes regions witnessed generally active levels, while in higher
latitudes minor storming was observed
for a short period.
This resulted in the geomagnetic disturbance indicator the estimated
Planetary A index (Ap) rising to 25.
The origin of this disturbance is as yet unknown.

Forecast 6-8/8/2000

Solar activity should remain at low to moderate levels.
The geomagnetic field is expected to return to unsettled to quiet thresholds
and the ionosphere is anticipated to remain at normal predicted MUFs.
