[HCDX] HF Spectrum Study (A00) (FREE)

I am pleased to advise that the A-00 HF Spectrum Study has been completed,
and is now available at no charge to anyone who's interested. It's a product
of the Electronic DX Press.

This Study covers frequencies between 4750 and 9999 KHz, and lists all
broadcasting stations heard here in Victoria, Australia, between 0000 and
0400 UTC during the Australian midwinter periiod, from mid-May up to the end
of July.
Utility, ham, time signal and harmonics are excluded.

Nearly 300 entries are given, based on monitoring in Melbourne (Chris
Hambly, Bob Padula), Ballan (Mick Ogrizek), Wilson's Promontory National
Park (Mick Ogrizek and Bob Padula). and Foster (Morrison Hoyle). Unlike
previous Studies, there is no accompanying narrative, as the Study is
self-explanatory.

We had a lot of fun with this project, and we hope you find it of interest
as an indicator of propagation into this part of the world during our winter
months across the midday period.

The Study period coincides with the high point of Solar Cycle 23, and
corresponds to the four hourrs between 10 am and 2pm here in Victoria.
Similar Studies have been compiled since 1997, and the data, in frequency
order, shows organisation, transmitter country, transmitter site, reception
span, languages, and broadcast days.

The Study is available free via E-mail as:

- a Word 7.0 document (four pages A4 portrait)

or

- a text file

You may obtain a copy by E-mailing me. Please advise the format you desire.
There is no restriction on re-use. All of our previous Studies have
attracted modest interest by monitors outside of Australia, but
there has been negligible demand from within Australlia.

The next Study will be our Midsummer Survey, for the same time period and
frequency range, starting on October 29, for the B00 period.

Printed copies via snail-mail are no longer offered, as I wouldl like to
think that wee are now in the 21st century!

Enjoy!

Bob Padula, 404 Mont Albert Rd, Surrey Hills, Victoria 3127, Australia.
