MALAWI  3380, MBC, *0247-0254, Already on with open carrier at 0234 tune
in.  Tone at 0245:35, then at 0247 start of seagull/ocean surf IS with EG
(by man) and Chichewa (by woman) IDs as "This is the Malawi Broadcasting
Corp., MBC, Radio One".  Instru. NA 0250-0251, sign on with full sked in EG
and Chichewa by man.  Nice signal but weak modulation.  (Valko 17 Sept.)

YEMEN  9781.81, RYR, 0258, Bird IS, ID by man, long instru. NA, then ID and
what sounded like a shed.  Excellent signal and clear.  Quite a bit off
freq now.  (Valko 17 Sept.)

EQUATORIAL GUINEA  5003.42, R. Nacional Bata, 2158-2211*, Long talk by man
at 2204 with mentions of Bata, Americana, Ecuatoriana, Nacional.  SP Pop
music with man voice over occasionally including ID at 2205, mention of
Cubano, Malabo, and Fidel Castro.  2207 mention of 60 meters, freqs 5005 SW
and 9?.005 FM stereo, and sked.  One gong, then mention of "Viva ?? la
Republica... Democratica Guinea Ecuatorial, a viva la Republica Guinea
Ecuatorial".  Usual instru. NA 2207-2211.  Fairly strong but weak
modulation and local TV oscillator QRM.  Oddly, all Africans much weaker
than they normal and fluttery.  (Valko 17 Sept.)

BRAZIL  6000, R. Guiaba, 2331, Canned talk by man at tune in with several
mentions of Guiaba and Brasil.  Into live man announcer.  Fair and fluttery
with weak co-channel QRM.  (Valko 17 Sept.)

BRAZIL  6135.11, R. Aparecida, 2335, ZY Pop music, //5035.28 and 9630.11.
Good ZY night, but fluttery signals.  (Valko 17 Sept.)

BOLIVIA  4702.23, R. Eco San Borja, 2346-0025, Lively LA Pops to live man
announcer at 2358 with time check briefly, canned ID by man bracketed with
flute music as "Desde Bolivia, America del Sur El Mundo, transmite R. Eco
San Borja.  4700 khz band internacional de 60 metros onda tropical.  ??
Borja ??.  Magnifico ??", and talk by same live man announcer with time
check given.  Into Romantico music program.  Man again 0015 with time check
and short announce-ment, canned announcement, and live man again.  Back to
Romantic music.  Poor but readable enough for ID, and in the clear.  First
time to hear it clearly since beginning of 97' and on the exact same freq!!

GUATEMALA  4824.94, R. Mam, 1130, Talk by man between songs with ID as
"(time check twice) programa...todo en estudios ?? estereo y R. Mam".  Fair
but fading.  (Valko 18 Sept.)
