[HCDX] YVKS-750

Dear Mike,

"Radio Caracas Radio" is a redundancy as you say, but perhaps understandable
at that now that the offspring "Radio Caracas TV" has grown much bigger than its
progenitor.

Starting as Broadcasting Caracas, in 1930, the company name was soon
changed into R Caracas. This station was on sw from the very beginning,
and from the early 50´s until the mid-70´s their signal was always one of the
most reliable ones from Venezuela on 4920 kHz. In the mid-50´s, when
the Venezuelan Bolívar was 4,30 to a dollar, and when Los Melódicos and
Billo´s Caracas Boys were playing live on the station, R Caracas inaugurated
its TV service.

Nowadays "Radio Caracas Televsión" is the country´s second largest network.
As the broadcasting side of the business started to lag behind in terms of revenue,
the slogan and format saw a change in 1984 to "Caracas 750".

In the early 90´s, alongside with the implementation of FM in Venezuela, the name
and line of programming changed once again, this time to "RCR, Radio Caracas Radio,
Red Nacional de Noticias".
