[HCDX] Shortwave commentary to be aired over "Morning Edition" on NPR Monday

Hello, everyone. I just got the message below my signature from Larry
Magne of "Passport to World Band Radio." Hope you can tune in via local
stations in the U.S. or via the Internet; AFRTS might have this on
shortwave, too.

73--
Marie

This Monday, July 2nd, National Public Radio's "Morning Edition" will air a
2 1/2 minute commentary, by me, on various shortwave-related issues. Aspects
covered will be the BBC World Service's cutbacks as of July 1st, jamming, and
shortwave cutbacks and site shutdowns under the Bush administration.

Although this is a holiday week, and NPR is heard largely by only a U.S.
audience, "Morning Edition" is reportedly the main newscast for Washington
functionaries and elected officials, as well as foreign diplomats.

"Morning Edition" airs between 6-10 AM weekdays (1000-1400 UTC), but as of
now I haven't been able to nail down even a rough time for the commentary,
which was taped a couple of hours ago. Most American locations have at least
one NPR affiliate audible on FM between 88.1-91.9 MHz. Also, there's live
streamed audio; archived audio too, but while the live audio is free,
the archived audio is $2.95 per show. Check at www.npr.org for all specifics.
As I don't have a recording of this, I can't supply it from here.

Regards, Larry Magne
