This remind me my recent trip to Italy in the period August 25 to September
9, when Verona was still active. My QTH was Abano Terme just about 10 km
south of Padova. I heard for several times the frequencies of RAI during
their regional broadcast e.g. 1010 - 1025 UTC. On 1062 kHz I heard RAI
Marche from Ancona (10 kW) 240 km away, but no signal (even not in the
background) from Verona (2 kW) which broadcast RAI Veneto and which is
only 70 km away from Abano.

Also I was not able to receive Radio Star from Vicenza on 1548 khz even
when I passed near Vicenza on the highway.
