[HCDX] Pan-American DX Logs 27 Sept. - 2 Oct./FM Tropo notes

Verry good AU CONDX the past few days. Bagged one new venezuelan. Also got the Bogota RCN station on 770 kHz for the second time. Some FM Trop too:

Into the logs:

Equipment: Sanyo MCD-S830 portable w/ internal ferrite bar
(All times in UTC):

640 VENEZUELA, YVQO Union R., Puerto La Cruz, Anzoàtegui, SEP 28 0141 - nx in spanish read by a woman. Poor signal, later lost under WNNZ as the AU
effects diminushed of intensity. (Chiochiu-PQ)

760 COLOMBIA, HJAJ, RCN Baranquilla SEP 28 0027 - Fair to good signal; "RCN, La radio de Colombia" jingle followed by "En el Atlantico, H-J-A-J 760
kilohertz, RCN Barranquilla" identification, continued by the "El Carnaval del Alegria" pgm. (Chiochiu-PQ) + OCT 02 0026 - Sports talk, "Radio
Succeso Barranquilla" ID at 0026. Fair signal, no QRM ! (Chiochiu-PQ)

770 COLOMBIA, HJJX, RCN Bogóta SEP 28 0136 - Fair and steady signal; SS talk with several "Bogota" mentions, "RCN Bucaramanga" ID. (Chiochiu-PQ)

1130 VENEZUELA, Ideal Maiquetia, Dto Federal SEP 28 0144 - verry tentative; bits of woman SS talk, heard way under WBBR. (Chiochiu-PQ)

1500 VENEZUELA, YVRZ, Cumana, Sucre SEP 27 2240 - Sunset reception: sports play-by-play; ID @ 2241 as "Radio Vísíon Dos Mil". Weak, but atop an unID
religious domestic. Later in the evening both this and the rel. dom. were lost under WTOP. This new catche make Sucre a new YV state for me.
(Chiochiu-PQ).

And, on shortwave (using the Realistic DX-351 portable multi-band with 20 meters external random wire attached tot he non-extended telescopic whip
ant.):

4980 VEN, Ecos del Torbes SEP 29 0929 - pretty strong: trop. mx. followed by a male with "Ecos del Torbes presenta...". Some minor utility QRM
underneath.
(Chiochiu-PQ).

5070 USA, WWCR, Nashville, TN SEP 2933 - with usual religious pgm. (Chiochiu-PQ).

On FM:

Some Ottawans were heard via tropo bending, the strognest being CHEZ 106.1, and on the evening of October 3 I heard CFXM Grandby on 104.9 throught
the semi-local in Lachute (CJLA "Radio Fusion").

Semi-local CFZZ "Z-104" in St.-Jean-sur-Richelieu is apparently either off or running extremely low power. Have`n`t heard them at all, in at least 3
weeks or even more !!!! And, CFEI 106,5 in St.-Hyacinthe will carry "Les Grandes Geules", a humoristic program produced by the énergie network, even
tough CFEIR is indepentend from énergie.

That`s it for now !
73 and good DX !
Bogdan
