[HCDX] CHINA: what is happening on 4800 kHz ?

Hi,
let me tell you this interesting story.

On 4800 kHz I hear a strong CNR 1 transmitter from western part of China. It
is the first transmitter comming from China already before 1300 UTC, more
than 2 hours before our local Sunset.

But now Artiom Prokhorov from Moscow writes me that he hears Radio Free Asia
in Chinese on this frequency - together with a jammer. He does not hear the
CNR 1 transmitter at all. Artiom writes he could identify the station
positively, also with a help of his friend living in Moscow who can identify
Chinese stations without bigger problems.

I have not heard anybody reporting Radio Free Asia on 4800 kHz - have you?
It is the same old problem - a lack of monitors in Asia...

The only station I hear behind CRN 1 is India. No RFA, no jammer. Do not
understand why a difference between Moscow and my area in central Europe is
so big on these frequencies. I would understand that the CNR 1 transmitter
could serve as a jammer but why they do not hear it in Moscow when it is so
strong still here in the middle of Europe? (This transmitter is on the air
until 1730 UTC and then 2000-2400).

GOOD DX,
