RE: [HCDX] Question about Minidisc recorders

Hi all,

>go hearing similar noise to what you described on another
DXer's MZ-R3 (R2?) Sony recorder. This is quite an "ancient" minidisc
recorder; I had presumed that these problems were gone from the newer
recorders. (Evidently not!)

I've found the problem to occur when holding on to the minidisc player (mine is a Sony MZ-R50) and even a high quality cord over 1m long doesn't help, other than placing it too far away to reach it! I think Walt is on the right track with the LCD causing the QRM and maybe placing your hand nearby amplifies the noise.

Care when placing and handling, along with a high-quality cord are the first things to address.

Cheers,

Paul
