Re: [HCDX] Technical question

Hi,

Thanks for the answers.

Yes, Im gonna endoss that, got a few ferrite rings from Maplin, and it really makes a difference.

Been finally able to listen to an entire football match on RDP (Portugueses radio, Im in Ireland's east coast) with no interruptions and clear, noiseless reception, most of the time hitting the maximum strength, never had that before on that same room with that same antenna.

Shame was that match the hungarian player died in the pitch ;)

The computer (a PC) when turned on seem to still give some interference, the Mac much less. The antenna is positioned 3 metters from them, cant position it further. Any hints on reducing the interference from the computers ?

Thanks again !

Hi! I have been using ferrite rings for years with good success. When earlier living in Finland I used to buy them and other components from the Finnish Radio Amateur shop. I still have and use them, now living and listening in Spain. Here I am going to explain, what the benefits will be: Amidon ferrite ring MATERIAL 77 (u=2000) High saturation flux density at high temperatures. Low core loss in the 1 KHz to 1Mhz range. Suited for power conversion and wideband transformers. Widely used for noise attenuation in the 0.5MHz to 50 MHz frequency range. Toroidal cores, Pot cores, E-cores Ferrite Beads are available from AMIDON Associates P.O.Box 25867, Santa Ana, California 92799, U.S.A. ( Fast Service Since 1963) If you want to know more about my experiences, just ask:Don Ami= Aimo Ruoho, Cam Condesa 12, Edf. Torresol II, 7 B-3, 29640 Fuengirola, Ma, Spain
73 and good listening!
My equipment: 3x Selena, Heathkit 717, TRIO 9R-59DS, SONY ICF-2010, SANGEAN ATS 808A, TenTec RX-340, 3x Satellite- antennas, 10 or more test antennas on the balcony + some active antennas + 2x YAESU FRT-7700 A.T.U, + some home-made A.T.U:s and precelectors etc.....
Still living in the hope of receiving permission to put up a real antenna on the roof of this 10-store building.

Hi, sorry for posting this one on the list.

About ferrite rings. Do they actually help isolating areial-bone/electrical interference ? Can it be used with a scanner/antenna ? Anyone had any experience with that ?

Thanks,
