[HCDX] Logs from NH-USA, Oct.12-13: Africans/Peru/Belarus/China



Conditions appear to be improving with some SE Asians
logged yesterday AM and Africans in the PM. Looks like
a good DX season awaits!

3306, ZIMBABWE, R.Zimbabwe(p), 0208-0232, Oct.13,
Vernacular, Continous mix of Afropops/Hi-life music w/
OM b/w selections and occasionaly talking over them.
Poor/fair w/ static. No discernible ID noted.

4910, ZAMBIA, R.Zambia, 2108-2133, Oct.12, Vernacular,
OM w/ phone-in program continuing through t/out. No ID
noted. Poor. (Barbour-NH)

5050, TANZANIA, R.Tanzania,Dar es Salaam, 2018-2103*,
Oct.12, Swahili, Two announcers w/ talk at t/in,
Afropops w/ talks b/w selections. Choral-like music w/
talk over at 2059, solid ID at 2101 followed by NA
until s/off. Weak under static w/ a few peaks by
t/out. Nice to hear the Africans "appearing" earlier

5985, CONGO(REP.), R.Congo, 1934-2008, Oct.12, French,
OM w/ talks b/w Afropops, brief instrumental version
of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" at 1959,
followed by brief YL and OM w/ news and a passing
mention of "Radio Congo". Poor/fair w/ (p) co-channel
VO Russia via Juelich audible after 2000. (Barbour-NH)

6020, PERU, R.Victoria, 0705-0732, Oct.13, Spanish,
Various talks over music, quick "Radio Victoria" ID at
0706 then "emotional" OM w/ religous talks over music,
with a few pauses for music only, continuing thru
t/out. At one point, he lists every S.Am and C.Am
country south of Mexico. (Barbour-NH)

6115, BELARUS, Belarusian R.(p), 2134-2200, Oct.12,
Belarusian/English, Classic rythm and blues music in
English with OM and YL in Belarusian b/w selections.
Abruptly overtaken at *2200 by co-channel NHK/R.Japan
via U.K. Fair, no ID noted. (Barbour-NH)

7155, CHINA, Xinjiang PBS, 1051-1107, Oct.13,
Mandarin, Two YL's w/ talks, various talks over music
until pips (5+1)/fanfare and nice ID by OM and YL.
Spanish-style guitar intro at 1102 followed by YL w/
talks b/w still more SP style guitar riffs. Fair/good,
a bit staticy by t/out. (Barbour-NH)
