WRN takes 2005 BRIT Awards across Europe for Somethin' Else:
For the third year running WRN provided live, pan-European satellite
distribution of the 2005 BRIT Awards to Somethin' Else who handled the
audio production and international distribution for one of the UK's most
anticipated music award shows on Wednesday 9th February. The audio from the
Awards ceremony was fed live by Somethin' Else from Earls Court directly to
WRN's Central London Master Control Room from where it was simultaneously
distributed to a record number of radio stations across Europe in high
quality digital stereo using WRN's radio multiplex service on the HOT BIRD
6 satellite. Richard Jacobs, WRN's Business Development Manager, says: "We
are delighted to have provided this service to Somethin' Else again. Our
experienced technical team ensured a seamless satellite distribution
service." WRN's satellite services are regularly used for distributing
one-off, high profile events to radio stations around the world. In January
WRN simulcasted UK Radio Aid, the UK's largest radio event for victims of
the Tsunami disaster, to listeners and radio stations around the world.

VOA Announces New Studio 7 Morning Broadcasts to Zimbabwe:
PRESS RELEASE- Washington, D.C., February 14, 2005 Voice of America (VOA)
will begin a new half-hour morning broadcast of the popular Studio 7 radio
show to Zimbabwe focusing on the country's March 31 parliamentary elections.
Beginning February 21, 2005, the broadcasts will air Monday through Friday
from 5:30-6:00 AM in Zimbabwe (0330-0400 UTC). The new program will provide
listeners with in-depth information on their nation's March 31
parliamentary elections.
For over two years VOA has also broadcast an evening hour-long program,
Studio 7, to Zimbabwe in the English, Shona and Ndebele languages that can
be heard seven days a week from 7:00-8:00 PM in Zimbabwe (1700-1800 UTC).
"With the March elections approaching, the people of Zimbabwe need more
access to objective news and information," said VOA Director David S.
Jackson. "This new broadcast from the Voice of America will give them the
news they need in the morning as well as at night."
The new English-language program can be heard in Zimbabwe and in southern
Africa on 909 kHz on the AM dial and on 4930 kHz and 6080 kHz shortwave.
