Re: [HCDX] Sync Detection Question

Thank you to everyone for their answers to my question
about using the Synchronous Detection feature of my
Drake R8. I received so many replies to my inquiry, I
am sending this message to the list, so as not to
leave anyone out.

As suggested, I tried using it when tuning in somewhat
stronger signals from other stations on other bands,
and it did improve the signal strenght and
intelligibility, so it is definitely not broken.

As several of you commented in your replies, the two
intermediate-width filters are insufficient for what
is needed. The 4.0 khz filter is too wide to be truly
effective on adjacent channel QRM on bradcast band,
and the 2.3 khz filter is too narrow for listenable
audio.

I will begin working with trying to tune these signals
with sideband and/or my digital signal processor and
hope for better results.
