Hi All BBC WS still noted using DRM on 6195 from Kvitsoy at 06:30 UTC, Feb 27, presumably to Europe. Have they forgotten to switch this off? Or doesn't DRM count as "shortwave"? 73 Chris ~~0 0~~ wrote:
BBC ends shortwave service in Europe BBC World Service shut down its remaining shortwave transmissions to Europe today. The current closures affect the remaining transmissions heard in southern Europe. The broadcaster, on its website, said the change was made in line with listener trends in radio. Increasing numbers of people around the world are choosing to listen to radio on a range of other platforms including FM, satellite and online, with fewer listening on shortwave. This is particularly the case in Europe, where the majority of shortwave transmissions ceased in March 2007. The BBC admitted that this was a loss to some listeners, but said there were alternative ways of hearing its programmes. Monday 18 Feb 2008 ABU via Yimber Gaviria, Colombia
