Moikka,
Tässä mielenkiintoinen vastaus, jossa kuvastuu hyvin tämän päivän
jenkkiaseman chief engineerin ongelmat ...

Subject: KIIX 1410 Reception
Thank you for your letter and the tape. It was great to hear KIIX 1410 at
that distance. From 1947 through 1998, 1410 was KCOL. The KCOL call
letters went to 600 and the KIIX 600 call letters went to 1410. I wish they
had never done that. With the US requiring lots of files and documents for
each radio station, swapping call letters in the same building was terrible.
Now we all have problems trying to associate the right call letters with the
right frequency. That's the way things go these days.
Enjoyed the picture. You have a great family. I have four kids. Christina
is 19 - a sophomore at Colorado State University. Cathrine is 13 - in 8th
grade, Chelsea is 10 - in 5th grade, and Craig is 7 - in 1st grade. I'm 63
this year. Obviously, my wife is much younger than I am!! I've been in
radio forever. I started in radio in Chicago, Illinois, my home town back
in 1951 while in grade school - as a musician playing on the radio. So, in
January I have 50 years in the business, and will have to keep going for a
long time. Besides, there is a shortage of peole who can engineer radio
stations. No one wants a 24 hour a day 7 day a week responsibility any
more. And our pay is not the best, compared to other technical jobs.
Keep listening. I would enjoy hearing about who else you receive and your
club activities.
I will get you something in the mail as quickly as I can. I am hoping to
find a bumper sticker for 1410 if our promotions department still has one.
