550 CHLN Trois-Rivieres (QC)
CHLN has applied move to 106.9.
560 CHVO Carbonear (NL)
CHVO. which is part of the VOCM network, wants to move to 103.9.
590 CKRS Saguenay (QC)
CKRS has applied move to 98.3.
630 CFCY Charlottetown (PEI)
As of October 2006, CFCY will be the only radio station in Prince Edward Island broadcasting on the AM band when CHTN-FM ceases AM broadcasting on 960 kHz. But it wonât be long. The station has got approval to switch over to the FM band. The station can already be heard on 95.1 MHz with new slogan âThe Islandâs Country 95.1 FM CFCYâ. And itâs simulcasting this FM -program on AM for about 3 months.
630 CHLT Sherbrooke (QC)
CHLT has applied move to 102.1.
720 CHTN Charlottetown (PEI)
The station, owned by Newcap Broadcasting has moved to FM on July 5, 2006, but will be allowed to simulcast on AM until October 5. It plays an adult hits format branded as âOcean 100.3â.
950 CHER Sydney (NS)
MBS has been granted an AM-to-FM move and CHER-950 will take its classic-hits format to 98.3, with 100 kW.
960 CHNS Halifax (NS)
Maritime Broadcasting System (MBS) has launched the FM replacement for CHNS pulling the plug on the oldies format heard on AM in favor of classic rock as â89.9 Hal FMâ. With the debut of the new format on CHNS-FM, the AM signal will go dark in October at the latest.
1150 CJRC Gatineau (QC)
CJRC has applied for FM move; it would go to 104.7.
1450 CHUC Cobourg (ON)
CHUC signed on its new FM facility on August 11. The new CHUC-FM (107.9) is simulcasted on AM and is announced on-air as â107.9 the Breezeâ. After a 90-day simulcast period, the AM signal on 1450 will go dark for good in November.
1450 CFAB Windsor (NS)
CFAB has applied to move to FM, with 100 kW on 92.9.
1650 planned
Not all the Canadians are abandoning AM. S.S. TV Inc. is applying for an ethnic AM signal in Brampton (ON), with 1000 watts on 1650.
