Tried listening tonight for some of the NC/SC coastal stations that might be
running special hurricane coverage on daytime facilities. Several years ago I
had heard WKZQ-1520 Myrtle Beach SC at sunset with "new rock" // FM, and tonight
sure enough there was something very weak in a tough WWKB-Buffalo null, on LSB
(to avoid Saudi het). Heard bits and pieces ... man pounding on doors shouting
"All right, everybody out!" and later the oldie "Eve of Destruction" ... so I
assumed this was WKZQ having a little fun with the situation. But then there
was a fairly clear ID "WQAT 91 on the air, testing." Listened to the tape many
times, and I'm pretty sure of the "WQ..91" part of the call. Anyone have any
idea what this is?
