Re: [HCDX]: Re: WRTH Future

Paul:

It has been an interesting set of comments. I am struck by the seemingly
paradox of the reduction of government-owned stations on SW, and the
seemingly rise in Clandestine stations on SW.

I was reviewing the Clandestine Radio Station Web site and was struck with
the large number of SW stations there putting out a message on SW, simply
because they could, and could have an influence. If Governments don't
think SW has an impact, then there are a lot of people wasting a lot of
money. Take Somalia, for example. You would think that with the many
factions in that country, and the poorness of it, that SW would be the
furtherest thing from their minds...yet each faction has a SW station, to
get their word out.

And, of course, as long as you have an audience, the WRTH will be there. I
noted yesterday that someone mentioned about WRTH being necessary for
Medium wave...I think that is true...it is the only universally accepted MW
source, based upon what I've seen...but it is also, in my mind, the top SW
source also. While Passport does a wonderful job, I feel as if both are
required.

I am surely pulling for the WRTH to survive...and I believe it will!
