Methink it still holds true that Rai "Notturno dall'Italia" on 846/900 kHz
have their silent period in first/second wednesday of each month,
respectively (after local midnight at 23 UTC winter 22 UTC summer, that
is). No back-up tx I'm aware of, but they didn't always respect their
schedule, and sometime you could still hear a prolonged tone on the open
carrier. Quite a number of years ago, when Milan 900 was off we had a
chance to log a few exotic catches. Not so more recently, due to co-channel
interferences.
