> On Sunday, at 8:08 UT (4:08 a.m. EDT) a Class C7 solar flare was
observed
>to erupt near the center of the solar disk. The Lasco Spacecraft indicate
>that an Earth-Directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) also occurred in
>conjunction with this event.

> There is a "possibility" that this solar disturbance could induce a
>significant display of the Aurora Borealis ("Northern Lights") on Tuesday
>night, May 2. This would occur almost exactly one Carrington rotation (27.2
>days) after the major auroral display that appeared across much of North
>America on April 6.
