[HCDX] AM reception

i'm looking for the best receiver [under $500] for AM reception.  what do you 
recomend?

does the sony icf 2010 get better AM reception than the grundig satellit 800? 
 which has the bigger AM ferrite bar antenna?

is the grundig 800 still haveing all the problems i've read abnout in the 
chat rooms?
