[HCDX] Radio Karelia celebrates its 75th anniversary



Radio Karelia 75 years

Next Wednesday, November 21, the Russian regional radio station, GTRK
"Karelija", better known as Radio Petrozavodsk, celebrates its 75th
anniversary of broadcasting. Their first programme in Russian language
went on the air as long as for 75 years ago, and their broadcasting
operation in Finnish was launched one year later. In honour of this
anniversary, Radio Karelia has produced several special programmes in
Russian and Finnish language. Previous and present editors recall the
past and tell about their work in the radio, and are expressing their
views on developing the broadcasting. Comments on their programs are
also requested from their ordinary listeners, and editorial staff is
even happy for all the letters that Radio Karelia has received from
DX'ers from almost all over the world.

Unfortunately, any schedule for this week's broadcasts has not been
announced yet, but they have used to introduce their weekly programmes
on Monday morning at 04.10 UTC. Last week, Radio Karelia had local
programmes on the MW frequency of "Radio Rossii" in Petrozavodsk (765
kHz 150 kW) in Russian at 04.10-04.40, 13.10-14.00 and 15.25-16.00
Mon-Fri; Tues/Wed/Fri 09.10-10.00; Sat 05.10-06.00, 07.10-08.00,
09.10-10.00 and 13.10-14.00; Sun 07.30-08.00, 09.10-10.00, 13.10-14.00
and 17.10-18.00. The department of national languages (Karelian, Finnish
& Vepsian) broadcasts daily 15.10-15.25 (Sat/Sun -16.00); Mon-Fri
04.40-05.00; Tues-Thurs 13.15-13.30 (Wed -14.00); Sun 07.10-07.30.
