[HCDX] Loggings from Victoria, BC

Not a whole lot to report, but this is the first opportunity I've had to 
scan the bands in quite some time.  Conditions nothing to write home about, 
especially this morning, but have had lots of fun learing to use the ERGO 
software with the 7030+ and the Scan320 logging software...a very nice 
combination.  Nice to see the B01 ILG database finally available.  I was a 
little concerned that this service would be discontinued.  Take care from 
Victoria, BC.......Walt.



KOREA-SOUTH 6348, 1416-, ECHO OF HOPE Dec 2 Good signal in Korean with 
splatter from 6350 and het, perfectly removed using the Timewave 
599zx.  Parallel to equally strong 3985. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC, Canada)

MEXICO 6010, 0205-, XEOI Mexico City Dec 2 Nice ID in Spanish at 0203, 
followed by EZL Spanish vocals.  Good reception. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC, 
Canada)

RUSSIA 9950, 1349-, R.VOICE OF AFGHANISTAN Dec 2 Barely audible at 1330 
sign-on, but improving nicely to fair at 1350, and expect better yet by 
sign-off.  Afghan music and talk by male and female. Signal peak didn't 
happen.  Back down to poor to fair at sign-off. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC, 
Canada)

SRI LANKA 15425, 0143-, SLBC COLOMBO Dec 2 Fair to good reception with 
American preacher in English.  Parallel 9770 fair at same time. (Salmaniw, 
Victoria, BC, Canada)

SYRIA 13610, 1920-, R.DAMASCUS Dec 1 French programming heard at good level 
with French programming.  Powerline like hum audible in background.  Best 
using LSB to avoid WEWM splatter from 13615.  Parallel to 12085 with same 
hum, but weaker.  Lots of splash there from 12080 VOA Botswana with French 
programming and African music at very strong levels. (Salmaniw, Victoria, 
BC, Canada)

USA 7354.35, 0229-, WRNO NEW ORLEANS Dec 2 Poor reception here with jingle 
bells.  Best in LSB, as usual. Continued past 0232. Heard full ID twice as 
WRNO Worldwide, the United States of America.  This ID, and off suddenly at 
0257:45.  (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC, Canada)
