Hello everyone,

This morning I made the following logging:

Paraguay 9736 Radio Nacional de Paraguay 2316-0033 SINPO: fr-gd; Lang: Spanish; Had to sit through a lecture about the economy for 40 minutes, then straight into another lecture. 0007 some music w/announcement, until 0032 finally an ID. Pretty strong and only started getting weaker after 0000. (Apr 03, Boogert)

Apart from spending 76 minutes waiting for an ID this was quite a catch. I've never noted reception from South America around midnight UTC and I wonder via which path this came in - over Asia and Africa or over the Pacific. Distance is about the same for both routes (20000 km), only the Asia/Africa path is predominantly in the dark and the Pacific route is in the daytime. The sun comes up here in Taiwan just before 2200 UTC, so for me it was daytime anyway. Can anyone come up with some educated guesses on this?

Hans
