Thanks for your observations, J.D.   I generally find that TA reception from
here favors the high latitude, and except for the odd directions which are
indicated by my loop, might be more properly trans-Arctic rather than
trans-Atlantic.   I don't believe I've heard any evidence of Spain or other
"low latitude" European signals here, certainly not recently.  I think even
the residual auroral zone absorbs those signals.  To me, evidence of the
really quiet conditions a couple of weeks ago was hearing carriers from
tentative Senegal-765 and Mauritania-1349, which, judging by their
direction,  were well south of the auroral zone. (Interesting, however, that
Sean Axelrod in Manitoba reported Spain and Morocco, but like me, Nigel
Pimblett in Alberta did not)

Incidentally, that 1314 reception was a flash in the pan.  Nothing heard since.
