Just a note on the midday LUF (not MUF as in the previous message), I 
remember picking up 49 MB European Stations, like Radio Luxembourg 
6090, virtually all day long back in the early 70's at my listening 
post in Spokane, Washington.  Also I had a reception of Radio Baghdad 
on 6030 khz 1800-1900 UTC.  Obviously, the further north you are the 
more likely this phenomenum .
