My beverages do not run in a perfectly straight line either. The land
around the coast is not perfectly flat. I try to keep the  antennas as
smooth as possible and the "ups" and "downs" as slight as possible. At
the ends, the antenna slowly goes down to rod over 50 or so feet, no
direct drops or raises.  This would foul up the directivity of the
beverage more.
