Radiodifusora
Comercial "La Voz del Destino", Nueva Cajamarca, provincia
de Rioja, departamento San Martín, is a new Peruvian station
on 6324.34 kHz.
The station was first heard on 26 Dec 2001 at 2355-0108, close
down.
Announces 6325 kHz and FM 89.5 MHz.
This
was probably their premiere broadcast, with mixed music from
both Ecuador and Peru.
Decent signal fading up and down in strength - the DJ's mic/voice
with superb quality. Rather stable in frequency the day
after the premiere broadcast at 1130 on 6324.30 kHz.
At first I thought they gave ID as "La Voz del Campesino",
but after checking the recording carefully, I am now convinced
that the say "La Voz del Vecino".
The most common meaning for the word "vecino" is "neighbour",
but in this case I think the meaning is "inhabitants/citizens"
i.e. they call themselves "Voice of the Citizen”.
I got the street address only in parts "Carlos(?)......Santa
Rosa(?) #5-99, Nueva Cajamarca".
The legally responsible and managing director, Gerente Ejecutivo,
is Pablo Dávila [as heard] and was called "el maestro de maestros",
i.e. a teacher of profession. In LA they usually have two
surnames, also including Señor Pablo the middle surname
something like "Paro/Caro/Daro" [as heard].

Radiodifusora Comercial "La Voz del Vecino"
on 6324.34 kHz, which I reported in SWB in December 2001,
was not active for more than a few weeks --- a well-known
pattern.
Stations, like "LV del Vecino", which also are active on FM
seem to be active on shortwave only at special occasions.
