The
station has been operating and administered by "Centro de
Comunicación Social de la Prelatura de Sicuani" since
March 1994 as a new educational & cultural project "Difusión
Andina". The Iglesia Católica Prelatura de Sicuani
(Prelacy Catholic Church of Sicuani) purchased the broadcasting
facilities from Raúl Siu Almonte who had managed
R Sicuani from 1975-1994. (He is the current owner of R
Cusco & Embotelladora Cusco S.A.)
The SW outlet OAX7T is officially authorised for
4835 kHz, but it has been on 4826.3 kHz since many years.
It runs with old "Harris" transmitter (1kW), connected into
a 1/2-wavelength dipole antenna. The new transmitter site
at Techo Obrero was inaugurated on September 15, 1995. Transmitter
and studio are linked by FM 91.1MHz (monaural) using a tiny
FM transmitter (8W). R Sicuani broadcasts *0930-0300* daily
on MW (1362.o measured)/SW. Programs in Quechua: 0930-1100
"Campesino Riminin" (Farmer talking) & 2300-0300 "K'uchullikuy"
(Be Pleased). The newscast "Informativo la Voz de las provincias
Atlas" is on the air 1100-1400 (1st edition) and 1800-1900
(2nd edition).

"Aqui y en todo lugar Radio Sicuani desde Sicuani, dos
frecuencias para el mundo: OAX7T 4835kc onda corta internacional
banda de 60 metros y OAX7R 1365kc onda media. Radio Sicuani,
seguimos ocupando el corazón del pueblo".
